Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I have more than one manuscript I would like to submit, can I submit more than 1 at a time?
A. Yes we will accept multiple submissions. However, each manuscript should be submitted separately using our submission guidelines.
Q. Do you accept stories written in First Person Point of View? Some publishers will not accept First Person from new authors.
A. There are many writers who are extremely successful writing in First Person and we will gladly take a look at your manuscript.
Q. I have co-authored a book, will you accept our manuscript?
A. Yes. If we accept a manuscript that has been co-authored, the author's will split the 35% royalty.
Q. I don't have my manuscript completed yet, will you accept on a partial?
A. We only accept completed manuscripts from new authors at this time. If you are already published with us you may query a partial.
Q. Do I need an agent in order to submit to Blade Publishing?
A. No.
Q. What is your payment schedule for authors?
A. Our authors will be paid on the 15th of each month royalties due from the previous month. For example, January royalties will be paid on February 15th.
Q. Can an author supply their own cover art?
A. Yes. There are stipulations for using your own cover art though so please email admin with "cover art inquiry" as your subject line and we will send you the information regarding using your own art.
Q. If we don't supply our own cover art how much say do we have in the design?
A. Most authors have a vision as to what they want their cover to look like. We will do everything we can to make that vision come to life.
Q. Do you accept anthologies?
A. At this time we are not accepting anthologies. If and when that changes we will update this page and notify our authors.
Q. What rights does Blade Publishing acquire?
A. Blade Publishing's standard contract rights are for 3 years. The author does however have the option of terminating the contract after the first year if he/she is not satisfied.
Q. Once my book has been accepted will it be edited?
A. Yes. We have a great staff of editors that will do their job to make your book an outstanding read. We will not publish sub par work and I hold my editors to the highest of standards. A last read through will be done by a copy editor to ensure complete accuracy before it hits our web pages for sale.
Q. Will Blade Publishing help its authors market their books?
A. Absolutely. While I cannot go into detail of our marketing campaigns beyond the usual Internet marketing: forums, newsletters, newsgroups, ect... We will also be submitting your books to multiple review websites. I have many great ideas to market both Blade and its authors. More will be revealed as each campaign draws near.
Q. Out of all the other e-publishing companies available why should I submit my manuscript to Blade?
A. Blade Publishing is dedicated to its authors. We will go above and beyond to help new authors succeed in marketing their work and we will help veteran authors by giving them new marketing ideas. If after a years time you are not satisfied with your level of success you can terminate your contract. It is that simple. If you want to start out small, just to get your feet wet with us, write and submit something small, like a novella. You will not be disappointed that you did.
